BRING IT ON THE MUSICAL is this for real?

Yes it is and before you cross it off your list here is the creative team behind the project:

• Andy Blankenbuehler (Tony Award-winning choreographer of In the Heights) will direct and choreograph the new musical.
• Book by Avenue Q Tony winner Jeff Whitty.
• Music by In the Heights Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda and Next to Normal Tony winner Tom Kitt.
• Lyrics by High Fidelity's Amanda Green.
• Tony Award winner Alex Lacamoire (In the Heights, Wicked) will serve as orchestrator, arranger and music supervisor.

Now what do you think? I love the creative team but really, Bring It On? We can see the first production as early 2011, with a national tour to follow. No cast has been announced yet, I can not even think of who they might ask? The musical is being co-produced by Universal Pictures Stage Productions. (Universal distributed the original film in the U.S.) Also producing are Charlie Lyons and Armyan Bernstein of Beacon Communications. I guess we just have to wait and see.
