I Can't Give You Anything But Love

On Saturday Night I got student rush tickets to see actress/comedienne/singer Christine Ebersole at the Orange County Performing Arts Center's Samueli Theater. Ebersole truly enchanted the audience with her upbeat, no holding back personality and powerful vocal range. I had always been a fan of Ebersole from her work on Broadway, in film and on TV, but now after seeing her live I think she is very under-rated! This lady can sing the roof off one minute and leave you in tears will a soulful tune the next (yes, I did cry). She told jokes about her life when she lived in So Cal vs. living in Maplewood, NJ. She was so grateful and so charming! The best part was that my friend Allyson and I did student rush for $15 and got AMAZING seats. We where at a table in the center in the 2nd row. And we sat next to a very nice lady who's husband is a Broadway actor and she cried during most of the performance. What an amazing night and guest who was playing next store... PATTI LUPONE, Spamalot and Putting it Together!

Ebersole recently just ended a successful run in the Broadway revival of Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit as Elvira. She won her 1st Tony Award for her performance as Dorothy Brock in the smash hit revival 42nd Street and a second Tony Award for Leading Actress in a Musical for her dual role as Edie Beale and Little Edie Beale in Grey Gardens. She has appeared in many hit movies, including Tootsie, Richie Rich, Black Sheep, Amadeus, Dead Again, Folks!, Ghost Dad, True Crime, My Girl 2, Mac and Me and the recently released Confessions of a Shopaholic.
Below are two Video's of Ebersole: 1) is a random video I found on youtube which goes to show how funny this lady is. 2) Is her Tony performance for Grey Gardens.
